Frequently Asked Questions

Everything people ask us before ordering. If your question is not here, email info@icondiamonds.com or call +1 (833) 284-3679 — we answer within one business day.

Diamonds and certification

Are all your diamonds certified?

Yes. Every loose diamond on this site carries an independent grading report from GIA, IGI or HRD. We do not list uncertified stones. The report number appears on the product page, so you can verify the stone directly on the laboratory’s own website before you order.

Do you sell natural or lab-grown diamonds?

Both, and each is clearly labelled. A lab-grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically the same material as a natural one; the difference is origin and price. We never mix the two or leave the origin implied.

Can I see the actual stone before I buy?

Where the supplier provides it, yes: real photography of that individual stone and a 360° viewer you can rotate and zoom. Diamonds are not interchangeable, so we avoid generic stock images of a shape.

What do the 4Cs actually mean for my budget?

Cut has the largest effect on how a diamond looks and is where we suggest you spend. Colour and clarity can usually be relaxed a grade or two without a visible difference, which is where most of the saving comes from. Tell us your budget and what matters to you and we will shortlist stones for you.

Ordering and rings

How does building a ring work?

Choose the diamond first and then the setting, or start from a setting and pick the stone that belongs in it. The setting is produced to order in the metal and size you selected.

How long does a ring take?

Loose diamonds and in-stock fine jewelry leave us in 1–2 business days. Made-to-order engagement rings and settings take 7–10 business days, plus 2–3 days if the ring needs sizing before shipment. Transit is a further 2–5 business days.

What if I do not know the ring size?

Order the size you believe is closest and contact us if it needs changing — exchanges within 30 days include a free insured return label in both directions. If it is a surprise, write to us before ordering and we will help you work it out.

Can I have the ring engraved?

Ask us before ordering and we will confirm what is possible on that setting. Please note that engraved pieces cannot be returned unless they arrive damaged or defective.

Shipping

What does shipping cost?

Nothing. Every U.S. order ships free and fully insured for its full value, with an adult signature required on delivery. Full details are in our shipping policy.

Do you ship internationally?

Not at this time. We currently ship within the United States only, including Alaska and Hawaii.

Is my order insured while in transit?

Yes, door to door. If a parcel is damaged or does not arrive, contact us within 7 days of the expected delivery date and we replace or refund it in full.

Returns and exchanges

Can I return my order?

Yes — 30 days from delivery, and we pay the return shipping with a prepaid insured label. This includes orders placed with a discount code. See the return policy for conditions.

What condition does the item need to be in?

Unworn and undamaged, in its original packaging, with the original grading report and all documentation. If the grading report is missing, the cost of a replacement report is deducted from the refund.

How long does a refund take?

We inspect the return within 3 business days of arrival and refund the original payment method straight away. Your bank then takes a further 5 to 10 business days to show it.

Payment and security

Which payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards and the digital wallets shown at checkout. Payment details are encrypted in transit and are handled by Shopify’s PCI-compliant checkout — we never see or store your card number.

Is it safe to buy a diamond of this value online?

Every stone is independently certified and verifiable before you pay, the shipment is insured to its full value, and you have 30 days to send it back at our expense. If you would rather talk it through first, call us.

Caring for your jewelry

How do I clean a diamond ring at home?

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush on the underside of the stone, where oils collect. Rinse and pat dry with a lint-free cloth. Avoid bleach, chlorine and abrasive pastes, and take rings off before the gym, the pool and gardening.

How often should it be checked?

Have the prongs looked at by a jeweller once a year. A loose prong is a cheap fix and an expensive loss.
