Plain & Comfort Fit Wedding Bands

A plain metal band is the ring that outlasts every trend, and the one most likely to still be worn in fifty years. There are no stones to lose, no settings to check, and nothing to catch on clothing or a child's hair.

The choices are width, profile and finish. Widths from 1.5mm to 3mm sit comfortably beside an engagement ring and stack well with other bands; 4mm and above are worn alone or as men's bands. Comfort fit — a domed interior rather than a flat one — makes a real difference on a ring worn every day, especially above 4mm, and it is the single upgrade we would always recommend.

Finish is where a plain band gets its character. Polished is traditional and reflective, and shows fine scratches soonest. Matte and brushed hide daily wear and look more contemporary. Hammered surfaces disguise scratches almost entirely, because they are already textured. Beveled edges make a wide band wear slimmer than it measures.
