Lab-Grown Diamonds
A lab-grown diamond is a diamond. Not a simulant, not a substitute: carbon crystallised in the same cubic lattice, with the same hardness, the same refractive index and the same optical behaviour as a stone that formed underground. A gemmologist cannot tell the difference by looking; identifying one requires equipment that reads the growth pattern, which is why every stone we list carries a report from a laboratory that has done exactly that.
What differs is supply. Mined rough is finite and unevenly distributed across sizes and qualities, and its pricing reflects that scarcity. Grown material is produced to order, so the price curve is much flatter — the premium for going up a carat, or up two colour grades, is a fraction of what it is in mined stones. In practice that means most buyers here stop compromising: they take the size they wanted and the clarity they wanted, rather than trading one against the other.
The trade-off is resale. Grown diamonds do not hold value the way mined stones have, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something. If the stone is to be worn rather than banked, that matters less than the two extra carats.
